- BET: Estrella Cabeza Candela to bt. Melinda Czink

- Comments: 25 years older Estrella Cabeza Candela from Spain
is a clay-courter player with huge physical qualities being 1.75cm tall and strong, she bases her tennis on a solid baseline way trying to be regular and to not to give easy points making unforced errors. She doesn't have one stroke absolutely better then the other, the service is quite normal and as well forehand and backhand played on the same way, she has not a great technique or some impressive winners, but she is an amazing fighter and with that she tries always to get the best according to her tennis possibilities.
Her ranking is not so good, during last years she used to play almost only on ITF events but last season has been different and quite good for her standard reaching twice QF in Barcelona and Budapest, winning as well one ITF event.
On the first round here Estrella played a massive match winning to experienced Lourdes Dominguez Lino in straight sets playing absolutely great against a very respectable player to face on this surface and that win must have given her a lot of confidence and a huge chance to make points for her ranking on a WTA event.

29 years older Melinda Czink from Hungary till 2009 was a very respectable player on fast surfaces as hard and grass, then in 2010 due to some injuries she had her worse season falling 14 times on the 1st round and having her worse injury in Madrid to the left shoulder that forced her to skeep all the last part of the season. From that moment she never get back playing her best tennis and as well last season for her was not so great, having another injury on left elbow, reaching 3r on the Championships and winning a couple of ITF but almost never playing on clay.
Melinda is a left-handed player that has such a great service with a very good slice from left and as well a good speed especially from right side, her forehand it's absolutely her best stroke which she gets most of her points, getting as well often to the net having a great touch and the backhand is the stroke which she doesn't control so much and which she makes most of her unforced errors. Having an offensive style of game for sure she plays better on fast surfaces and clay is the only surface where she didn't get almost never any good results, her game is too riskful and to offensive for this kind of surface, she plays on "1 and 2" and she doesn't play solid trying to have as well some long baseline rally, thing that on a surface like clay is a must because you cannot expekt to win all the points making winners. .
On the first round here in Acapulco she has been lucky facing Dubois that is another player that has the fast surfaces characteristics and that on clay her database is as well very poor.

Verdict: Estrella Cabeza Candela plays on her favourite surface, having a great chance for her to get the third round and playing with a great confidence after beating Dominguez Lino, she has the perfect solid baseline game to face on clay Melinda Czink, because the Hungarian will try to be offensive as usual for her, to find winners and on a very slow surface like Acapulco this isn't absolutely easy, moreover Czink hates clay surface and during last couple of years her database on this surface it' poor with very few matches played and almost no wins, but quite normal for a player that doesn't have the right characteristics to play on this surface.
In our opinion it's unreal that Cabeza Candela should be underdog on this match, no criteria at all, the Spanish might not be of course a top player or a big name on tennis, but she defends her chances on clay quite good, she will play at her best with a lot of confidence and motivation for a big chance, the other one plays a tennis far away to make a good performance according the surface here in Acapulco and has the perfect game to let play Cabeza Candela as she wants letting Czink makes unforced errors.
Cabeza Candela underdog is absolutely a gift in our opinion, Czink right now playing on this way has few chances to win a match on clay against a clay-courter specialist which is not the ones she faced on the 1st round.
Amazing Confidence here.
